Mathis, originally from the Hautes-Alpes region, discovered skiing at the age of 2. He learned to ski at a very young age thanks to his parents. He loved off-piste skiing, skiing in powder snow and having fun doing jumps, so he wanted to turn his passion into his profession. To train, Mathis enrolled in a mountain trades school, which enabled him to become a ski instructor.

Since 2021, he has been teaching alpine skiing, snowboarding and freestyle skiing in French and English.

In his spare time, he enjoys skiing for pleasure.

Mathis is also a ski lift electrician and restaurateur.
